AEMFI is pleased to announce that registration for Certificate in Digital Money Course is now open.

The Certificate In Digital Money(CIDM) course offered by Digital Frontiers institute (DFI) is designed for professionals working in banks, microfinance institutions, telecom providers and other businesses and individuals who are either involved or plan to deliver digital financial services to the public. It provides a foundation knowledge on how to design, implement and manage various digital financial service products. The course is purely delivered online but there is an in person session called 'Community Of Practice' (COP) which takes place once a week in cities of course participants to allow them meet together to reflect on course contents and exchange ideas. Up until now, the course has been delivered three times internationally and more than 15 Ethiopian participants have completed the course. Currently, it is being offered for the fourth time and the number of participants from Ethiopia has increased to 40, most of them from commercial banks. In December 2016, AEMFI and DFI entered into an agreement to promote the course in Ethiopia. Following this agreement, AEMFI hosted the COP sessions for the third batch of students in Addis by inviting Digital Money experts who took the course in prior cohorts. AEMFI is currently hosting and facilitating one COP session every week for the present cohort.

AEMFI recognizes the relevance of the course for realizing the financial inclusion agenda, which is at the core of the national financial inclusion strategy and the GTP-II. DFS is a strategic tool through which the financial inclusion initiatives in the country can be achieved. Hence, AEMFI encourages member microfinance institutions, banks, universities, research institutes, consultants and individuals to consider taking this course. The next cohort begins on September 11, 2017 and the registration is already open. Please make sure to register before August 4, 2017 as the registration closes by then.

What makes this course even more interesting is that the curriculum and the delivery mode of the course is approved by the Fletcher School,Tufts University, which is the academic partner of DFI that issues the CIDM course certificate.
