AEMFI which started with four (4) MFIs now have more than 50 members MFIs licensed by the National Bank of Ethiopia.
They were transformed into companies limited by shares to mobilize savings from the public and grant loans to the public under the regulatory supervision of the National Bank of Ethiopia.

AEMFI's 25th Anniversary
AEMFI has planned to celebrate its 25th Anniversary and launch first Ethiopia microfinance week from November 14– 17, 2023 in parallel with the its 12th biennial conference.

Why Join AEMFI?
Your membership will entitle you to take part in and get discounts on workshops, access to information on microfinance best practices, the members database, industry surveys and linkage to regional MFIs and (international) networks, institutions and donors;
More importantly, your membership will be a sign that you are committed to improving and professionalizing the microfinance sector in ETHIOPIA . You will be availed an opportunity to share with other MFIs your problems and successes, you can have a voice in the policy discussions with government, donors and other stakeholders;
As a member of AEMFI you are entitled to access the research and database facilities that AEMFI has created.
You will also be entitled to receive a quarterly journal (the microfinance banker) and other relevant information in a timely manner.
Members count over the years
The MFIs constitute the Regular Members of AEMFI which exclusively form the General Assembly and are elected to serve on the Board. Currently, There are more than 50 member MFIs which constitute the Regular Membership.
